If I Lose Weight Will Breasts Get Smaller
I receive a lot of emails about excess skin. I totally understand the fascination because I’m fascinated by this aspect of weight loss too.
If I lose the weight what is my body going to look like? What will my tummy and my thighs look like? And of course, what will happen to my breasts??

I lost 125 pounds, I’ve shared many times about my thighs and tummy post weight loss and as most of you know I had skin removal surgery and Diastasis Recti (DR) repair on my stomach a month ago. You can read more about that here.
Do I Need To Lose Weight Before Having Breast Reduction Surgery?
My thighs are still a hot mess and my only option, if I want to tighten the skin, is surgery. I’m not really worried about it though. Unless I’m wearing shorts or a bikini it’s not super noticeable and even then it doesn’t bother me much. My breasts on the other hand, well, they’re just not what they used to be.
I’ve always had a big chest. I was a D cup by 7th grade. At 260 pounds I was an H cup so I knew that losing weight meant losing boob. I’ve settled into a 32DDD but it’s mostly pushed up folded over skin sag. I get really creative with my pushing and tucking and can pull off a pretty decent bikini top but naked
I’m still nursing my youngest so if I ever were to do a lift it wouldn’t be for a couple years and even then I’m not entirely sure it’s something I want to do. I definitely do not want implants as many in my family have had some scary experiences and the thought of inserting a foreign object to live inside my body forever creeps me out a little.
Study Finds: The Truth About Breast Lift & Cup Size
I receive emails weekly asking if I’ve had a boob job or what my secret is to having such amazing boobs after weight loss and I always have a little chuckle to myself. As flattering as those messages are, I feel like you guys deserve a fair and accurate depiction of the state of things in my chestal region.
My secret is a properly fitting Victoria Secret Full Coverage Bra ya’ll! Go get fitted. It will blow your mind. I wear a Body By Victoria strapless and their Full Coverage for under t-shirts. Victoria makes me look goooood. I don’t wear anything else. (This is totally not endorsed by VS btw, just my truth).
I was also fortunate enough not to lose ALL of my boobs. I think genetics helped a bit with that and the fact that I’m still breastfeeding. I’m sure I’ll probably lose another size or two once that ends.
How To Reduce Breast Size
At 170 pounds I was really happy with the way my boobs were looking but when I hit the 140’s they really began to deflate and the 130’s? Forget about it. Bye bye boobs. I’d like to say it doesn’t bother me at all but it does. Especially during sex.
My breasts were always one of my best features. I never had to struggle with feeling like they weren’t big enough, or oddly shaped, it was the one area I felt really confident about when I was overweight but now it’s probably one of the top two things I’m most insecure about on my body.
Moral of the story? Don’t believe everything you see on the internet. Just because a person takes a good picture doesn’t mean they’ve got it all together. I’ve got stretch marks, cellulite, saggy skin, and jiggle just like everyone else. š I’ve had lots of babies, gained and lost lots of weight, and my body tells that story. I share all this because I want you to know that YOU’RE NORMAL!Have you changed your contraceptive pill? If you’ve recently decided to come off the pill altogether, you might notice that it impacts your breast size. This medication boosts your estrogen levels – in some senses that means that it mimics the side effects of pregnancy in the body. So, it’s only natural that your breasts may get larger.
What Size Will My Breast Be After Reduction Surgery?
However, when you stop taking the pill, your levels of estrogen drop. Your body is likely to see a few natural changes when this happens and it’s not something that you should be all that concerned about. That means that your breasts may get a little smaller.
Losing weight can lead to your breasts shrinking since your breasts are made up of fatty tissues. When you start to lose that, you will find that your boobs get smaller than they once were. Sadly, you can’t control the areas in which you lose weight. Of course, if you start to slim down at a rapid rate, you should consult with a doctor.
Never underestimate the relationship betweenyour diet and your body. What you eat plays a huge role in how you feel and your physiology. If you have suddenly started to follow a new eating regime, you may well find that it has an effect on the size and shape of your body, among other things.
Will My Bra Size Change If I Lose Weight?
Found that drinking a great deal of coffee could cause women’s breasts to become smaller. That doesn’t mean that you need to skip your morning Cup of Joe but it’s worth knowing.
Hitting the gym regularly? That could be why your breasts are suddenly a cup size smaller than they once were. There are someexercises that actually target your breast areaand could mean that you lose fat. For example, if you’ve taken up rowing, you could find that you naturally start to tone-up your chest area. That may mean that you lose a cup size.

If you’re worried about losing some size in the breast department, it could be worth talking to a fitness expert and seeing what they suggest. When you work with a personal trainer, you can make sure that you target the specific areas of the body. That could be the answer to this little conundrum. Simple.
Factors That Impact Your Breast Size
We’ve already talked about the fact that estrogen levels can affect your body in a whole host of ways. What you may not know, though, is that these levels may naturally fluctuate throughout your lifetime. You could find that they decrease as you get older or right after you’ve had a baby. These changes are normal but could cause your breasts to shrink.
It’s no secret. As we age, our body shapes and sizes will naturally change. You might get shorter as you get a little older, for example. It should come as no surprise that aging may also affect the size and shape of your breasts. Should you notice a slow decline in the size of your boobs, it may be nothing at all to worry about. It happens to many women.
The main thing that you need to remember here is not to panic. When your breasts get smaller, there could be a whole range of things at play. Be sure to consider what could have caused this change before jumping to conclusions. Your body will change as you get older and do different things. That’s natural.
When You Lose Weight, Do Your Breasts Get Smaller?
Of course, it should go without saying that sudden changes may be cause for concern. If you find that you lose a cup size overnight, you may want to reach out to a medical professional. See your doctor and explain what has happened. They will help and support you to find out what the cause of the issue is.
