A NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER AN INDIE BESTSELLER One of the great thinkers of our generation . . . I feel fresher and smarter and happier for sitting down with her.-Jameela Jamil, iWeigh Podcast The co-host of the Maintenance Phase podcast and creator of Your Fat Friend equips you with the facts to debunk common anti-fat myths and with tools to take action for fat justice The pushback that shows up in conversations about fat justice takes exceedingly predicable form. Losing weight is easy-calories in, calories out. Fat people are unhealthy. We're in the midst of an obesity epidemic. Fat acceptance glorifies obesity. The BMI is an objective measure of size and health. Yet, these myths are as readily debunked as they are pervasive. In You Just Need to Lose Weight, Aubrey Gordon equips readers with the facts and figures to reframe myths about fatness in order to dismantle the anti-fat bias ingrained in how we think about and treat fat people. Bringing her dozen years of community organizing and training to bear, Gordon shares the rhetorical approaches she and other organizers employ to not only counter these pernicious myths, but to dismantle the anti-fat bias that so often underpin them. As conversations about fat acceptance and fat justice continue to grow, You Just Need to Lose Weight will be essential to ensure that those conversations are informed, effective, and grounded in both research and history.

“Doctors are unbiased judges of fat people’s health. Fat people don’t like going to the doctor’s office because they don’t like hearing the truth.”This is not a weight loss site, but weight loss is certainly a major topic around here. Because of that, I feel a responsibility to approach it from both sides.
Aubrey Gordon's 'you Just Need To Lose Weight' Is Our January Book Club Pick
The reason I talk so much about how to lose weight is because there is way too much misinformation out there on the topic. It truly does not need to be as complicated as it is made out to be.
Sure, if you’re at a weight that is putting your overall health in jeopardy, losing some weight is wise. But if you’re in the camp that says “I can definitely lose a few pounds” then this post is for you.
If you don’t want to lose weight because you love your body the way it is, that’s awesome. If you want to lose some weight because it’ll make you feel better all around, that’s awesome too.
Just Stop Eating So Much! Completely Revised And Updated: The No Nonsense, Common Sense Way To Lose Weight And Feel Great By Gregg Mcbride
We all have different body goals. I’ve been working out for 12 years and I still do it, because I like building muscle. Some people have absolutely no interest in building muscle, and that’s fine! They can be perfectly healthy in their own right without ever stepping foot in the gym.
But if you are happy and thriving the way you currently are, even if you feel like you can afford to lose a few pounds, why stress it?
There’s so much more to life than your weight. Who’s to say that the weight you currently are isn’t the perfect weight for YOU?

Foods To Eat To Help You Lose Weight
But if you do in fact want to lose weight, please understand that there is nothing wrong with wanting to lose weight.
If you’ll be happiest with your body a certain way, that is NOT an unhealthy goal. Losing weight shouldn’t be the sole driver of your happiness, but pursuing weight goals can certainly be a factor in your overall happiness.
You don’t have to lose weight. But you can. If weight loss if part of your goals, that is absolutely okay. And if it’s not, that’s okay too.
I'm Doing Everything Right, But I'm Still Not Losing Weight. What's Going On?
Join The CCDC (Cheat-less Cheat Day Crew) to get my recipes before they go live, along with other special announcements and exclusive giveaways! You're wrong. Your body will burn fat when you alter the intake and your body wants more than what you are putting in. How do you decrease fat without losing or burning? That really is an illogical statement. My body absorbed the fat for fuel which means it burned it.
Fact is if you want to eat junk and keep off weighy you'll need to exercise. Or else you'd have to pretty much diet your whole life which is implausible
It's still off and will never come back as long as I stay with what I'm doing. I eat healthy and in sensible portions. Anyone can lose weight and don't have to diet you have to change THE diet to good food. Just cutting out most bread and sugary stuff made the most change. I can still eat all day but just healthy foods.
You Just Need To Lose Weight
Seriously, I'm not a person who believes in fat shaming but you don't say I'm gonna go lose weight and then just cut out your McDonald's intake and sit on your ass. All you're doing is decreasing the weight you're adding on, not losing it. Sure you might lose a tiny bit of weight from wiggling around looking for the remote, but that probably won't even bring you down 1kg.
Get off of your fat ass, put on some sweats and go jog until you think you're gonna puke. That's a bit extreme for someone just starting to exercise, but when you won't make a conscious effort to help yourself that's when you become hopeless.
Exactly. People can't expect to be lazy and then think that will get them what they want. In order to lose weight in a way that will impact them positively need to both diet and exercise. I agree with you.
Love Yourself Slim! Want To Lose Weight? The Secret Is To Think You're Beautiful Just The Way You Are Right Now
It's so annoying to see all these people falling for these crappy programs: Eat whatever you want, don't exercise, and still lose weight!! -yeah, ok

Yea, i mean anything you want in life you have to work for it. How you gonna lose weight if you dont work it off, you might lose a little but not any that would improve your appearance.
Basic medical science has proven repeatedly that taking in fewer calories than you burn in a day will result in weight loss. Exercise is not necessary at all to lose weight and keep it off. You burn calories just sitting on your ass all day. As long as you eat below that amount, you will lose weight.
How Do I Lose Weight In Just 20 Days
It also has nothing to do with what you eat. You can gain weight eating a diet of nothing but boiled chicken and steamed broccoli if you eat too much of it every day. And you can lose weight eating nothing but deep fried ice cream if you eat too little of it every day. The science is in. The point is well-known and proven.
Noone was arguing, and if you cant bring across your point without dragging in insults please refrain from commenting on my memes because i will just downvote, flag and ignore you.:D
SO YOU WANT TO LOSE WEIGHT BUT NOT EXERCISE; TELL ME HOW ONLY MINIMIZING YOUR JUNK FOOD INTAKE IS GOING TO HELP YOU ACHIEVE THAT
